Street Fighter the Legend of Chun Li Movie Trailer

Street Fighter the Legend of Chun Li MovieJapan is the home country of Capcom. So no wonder that the movie Street Fighter Street Fighter the Legend of Chun Li is heavily promoted over there and that the country of the Rising Sun is getting the premiere of the trailer.

So here below the first official movie trailer of Street Fighter the Legend of Chun Li (shall try to get an English as soon as possible):

STREET FIGHTER THE LEGEND OF CHUN LI

That's an action / martial-arts movie respectful of the original source material! A much appealing adapation than what has been done for the movie Dragonball.

I'm quite impressed by Kristin Kreuk in the role of Chun li! She looks amazing!

Street Fighter Teaser Trailer

It's been a long since the first Street Fighter game has been published. The game has become a franchise and even had an early movie adaptation starring Jean Claude Van Damme in 1994.

Scriptwriter Justin Marks and Director Andrzej Bartkowiak team up to bring Street Fighter back in the front: they've been working on a new movie titled Street Fighter The Legend of Chun Li. This is the first movie of a potential movie series.

The movie Street Fighter The Legend of Chun Li should be released at the end of February 2009.

Let's have look to this Japanese promotional teaser trailer of Street Fighter The Legend of Chun Li:

Street Fighter Teaser Trailer

The Plot:
"Based on the popular video game franchise, female fighter Chun Li embarks on a quest for justice."

The lead character Chun-Li is played by Kristin Kreuk (the girl from the TV show Smallville). The film is also starring Neal McDonough as M. Bison, Chris Klein as Charlie, Michael Clarke Duncan as Balrog, and Taboo as Vega.

Ryu, Ken and Guile are not part of this movie: it is indeed more of a Chun-Li origin story. But they will probably appear in future sequels if this first movie is successful.

Street Fighter Interview of Justin Marks

Chun Li MovieScriptwriter Justin Marks, who is behind the screenplay of Street Fighter The Legend of Chun-Li, talks about the upcoming movie in an interview given to IGN:

When asked about the exclusion of key Street Fighter characters most notably Ryu and Ken, Justin Marks explains that it is the result of a discussion between Capcom and the producers: they wanted to ensure that this reboot would be really different from what may have been done before. And in Justin Marks's own words: "Chun-Li is a fresh bottle of water!"

Street Fighter Legend of Chun Li Cast

Street Fighter is a cult game. I remember the first time I played was on a Sega console: I was definitely blown away! So, I am a long time fan somehow...

The 1994 movie based on the video game directed by Steven E. de Souza and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme wasn't that bad, but a remake is welcome...

Scriptwriter Justin Marks and Director Andrzej Bartkowiak will show us a new take on the famous franchise with the upcoming movie Street Fighter The Legend of Chun Li.

Let's check the cast of Street Fighter The Legend of Chun Li:
