Street Fighter the Legend of Chun Li Movie Trailer

Japan is the home country of Capcom. So no wonder that the movie Street Fighter Street Fighter the Legend of Chun Li is heavily promoted over there and that the country of the Rising Sun is getting the premiere of the trailer.

So here below the first official movie trailer of Street Fighter the Legend of Chun Li (shall try to get an English as soon as possible):

STREET FIGHTER THE LEGEND OF CHUN LI
That's an action / martial-arts movie respectful of the original source material! A much appealing adapation than what has been done for the movie Dragonball.

I'm quite impressed by Kristin Kreuk in the role of Chun li! She looks amazing!

It's been a long since the first Street Fighter game has been published. The game has become a franchise and even had an early movie adaptation starring Jean Claude Van Damme in 1994.

Scriptwriter Justin Marks and Director Andrzej Bartkowiak team up to bring Street Fighter back in the front: they've been working on a new movie titled Street Fighter The Legend of Chun Li. This is the first movie of a potential movie series.

The movie Street Fighter The Legend of Chun Li should be released at the end of February 2009.

Let's have look to this Japanese promotional teaser trailer of Street Fighter The Legend of Chun Li:

The Plot:
"Based on the popular video game franchise, female fighter Chun Li embarks on a quest for justice."

The lead character Chun-Li is played by Kristin Kreuk (the girl from the TV show Smallville). The film is also starring Neal McDonough as M. Bison, Chris Klein as Charlie, Michael Clarke Duncan as Balrog, and Taboo as Vega.

Ryu, Ken and Guile are not part of this movie: it is indeed more of a Chun-Li origin story. But they will probably appear in future sequels if this first movie is successful.
